Making the Most of Your Visit

Visiting an Adult Baby (AB) nursery for the first time can feel a bit overwhelming. To help you have a wonderful experience, whether you're visiting me or any other mummy, here are some helpful tips to keep in mind.

Planning Your Visit

Just a little preparation can help you get the experience you need.

Do your research

  • Explore the options available to you

  • Shortlist your favourites, and identify what truly appeals to you. Think about what activities and experiences you are looking for

  • Reach out and ask questions. If you’re not comfortable with the responses you receive or the way you’re treated, move on. This includes me—I know I won’t be the perfect match for everyone, and that’s absolutely fine. You deserve to find the Mummy who feels just right for you (remember Goldilocks!)

  • Be clear about your boundaries and specific requests so that your caregiver can tailor your experience to meet your needs and expectations

  • Trust your instincts. Take time to reflect on which nursery feels like the right fit for you

  • If your prospective mummy takes time to respond to your questions, please do not abuse this kindness by asking silly questions. Trust me: we know the difference between a Little who is nervous, and one who is being a silly billy

What to Bring

  • Each nursery is different, so check what will be provided for your visit

  • Remember to ask if you can bring your favorite plushie, dummy, or blankie and whether food and bottles are included in the cost of your stay

On the Day

Once you arrive, allow time so that you do not arrive rushed. There’s nothing worse than feeling anxious  and being late on top!

It’s okay to feel shy 😊

  • Let your caregiver guide you in the experience at a pace that feels right for you. Don’t be rushed or forced into things which don’t feel right for you

Embrace Your Little Side

  • Engage in activities that make you happy, whether that’s playing with toys, finger painting, watching cartoons, or simply being held and loved

  • I know this one may seem difficult (but you can do it), but try not to overthink things. Trust your feelings – after all, you’ve done all your research to make sure this is the right experience for you 😊

  • Remember, you’re paying for a service, so if something isn’t working for you, speak up. You always have the option to ask for changes in the moment, and you can leave if it’s not the experience you hoped for. Remember: your big side is there to care for and protect your little side

After Your Visit

Reflecting on your experience can help you get even more out of future visits

Take Time to Process Your Thoughts and Feelings

  • It’s quite usual to feel relaxed, happy, or emotional after your visit. Give yourself time to adjust back to your usual routine

  • Journaling about your experience or talking to a trusted friend (if you have one who understands) can be helpful

Give Feedback

  • Let your caregiver know what you enjoyed, and if you would like different things for your next visit

  • If there were moments you particularly loved, tell your caregiver afterwards. It can be helpful to discuss, both to decompress on the day but also to better plan your next visit

Plan Your Next Visit

  • If you had a great time, consider booking another session. Building a relationship with a caregiver can make each visit feel more natural and rewarding (see testimonials page)

  • Think about any new activities you might want to try next time to enhance the experience

A visit to an AB nursery is about feeling safe, cared for and about having fun. With just a little preparation you can create a truly memorable experience which will last a lifetime
